Anthony W. Gaines II

           

Anthony Gaines II, the CEO and Founder of Gaines Media Company (GMC), is a visionary entrepreneur dedicated to creating a positive impact through media and community engagement. Over the past five years, Anthony's journey has been marked by a commitment to education, community development, and fostering meaningful conversations.

 

Hailing from Cincinnati, Ohio, Anthony relocated to Louisville, Kentucky, in pursuit of a strategic five-year plan. His mission was to immerse himself in the local community, build trust through genuine community work, and establish a respectable business acumen. He did just that, he was the co-founder of a CBD store in Louisville, KY called "Kentucky Sol". Here Anthony excelled as the sales and marketing director gaining their products entry into 30 locations in Kentucky. The stories and testimonials of the customers at Kentucky Sol is what initially sparked his passion into uncovering the healing properties of cannabis. After building that project, Anthony went on to become editor of Colors Newspaper, a Louisville based, black owned newspaper and non-profit organization. This publication was created to give a voice to the voiceless, and bring to light issues that directly effect the people in the community. Colors Newspaper sold tens of thousands of copies and the organization itself helped to build and renovate homes in the West End of Louisville, for first time homeowners. Anthony's involvement in the community has been extensive, from serving on the board for the Office of Safe and Healthy Neighborhoods' Russel neighborhood implementation team to organizing youth programs, community clean-ups, and hosting marches during times of unrest in 2020.

             

Anthony's dedication to education is evident in his efforts to build two schools, one in Louisville and one in Cincinnati, showcasing his passion for lifelong learning and the well-being of others. His multifaceted approach includes talk radio, podcasts, and a docuseries, amplifying his voice and contributing to meaningful dialogues.

 

As the Founder of Gaines Media Company, Anthony spearheads initiatives that reflect his commitment to community empowerment. The company, operating under the umbrella of Gaines Enterprises, is a testament to Anthony's vision for a diversified portfolio of impactful ventures. Projects such as Final Friday's at Revelry, Dynamic Expressions (a documentary), and the flagship OH-High-Yo! Media, embody Anthony's dedication to fostering creativity, expression, and community engagement.
